Ahoy! Strap yourself in for the final day of AnachroCon!
Before you giggle yourself to death, yeah, I let my friends curl my hair and put a little eye-liner on me. But I still only got compliments on Sarah’s top hat! Well, maybe a couple for my boots and apparently tiny waist.
But I am so happy to be back in pants and T-shirts and make-up free!
Anyway, Day 3 was all about performances. I got to see the steampunk band Extaordinary Contraptions play an acoustic set.

The bass is the most manly of instruments — just look at him go!

I also got to see the Atlanta Radio Theater Company (ARTC) do a live recording of their latest podcast, which included three stories: “Rafe Rathbone, Constable of the Ether: The Adventure of Sir Isaac’s Monocle” by Ron N. Butler, “Candle Magic” by Kelley S. Ceccato, and “The Game Is Afoot!” by Sketch MacQuinor. I was pleasantly surprised by the witty stories they wrote and performed, and it reminded me of those days long ago when people didn’t have TV or internet and listened to the radio for news and stories. Check out their radio dramas!

Overall, AnachroCon was the most fun convention I’ve been to so far! The vendors were friendly and had a wide variety of merchandise, the events were varied and interesting, and the bands were candy for the ears. I highly recommend it for steampunk fans and time travelers in south-eastern America.

Great photos, Gally! Looked like you had a wonderful kickass time!
Thanks, Jessica! I definitely did!
It’s true; the bass is the epitome of manly man instruments. I could have watched him play that thing all day.
It totally is! I think it was the highlight of the band.
All day, eh? Perhaps if I stumble across a few more comments like these I’ll actually be motivated to practice all day like I know I should. ;-)
Thanks so much for the kind words! We hope to see you out at another performance soon!
Thanks for finding us! I hope to see you again in another show :] ROCK THAT BASS!
Love the photos!
I didn’t … giggle, snigger or snort! You actually pull off the look! :-)
Lol, thanks! I’m glad I was able to get a ton of photos. It was fun dressing up, but nothing beats a comfortable pair of pants :]
Gosh.. you are looking so damn cool there, Christine!! I bet you had LOADSA fun!!!
Dig the glasses on your hat!! NEEEEEAAATTT!!
Alrighties… Just to tell you how ROCKING I think you are, Hereis a Versatile Blogger Award for ya.. (if you don’t mind) :)
Luv ya!
(hugs)
Wow, thanks a ton, Kavita! You’re so sweet! I’ve proudly displayed it on my awards page :] I love getting awards from you!
Gotta say, kudos on that hat. I’m glad you had that of a badass time, seems like it gives you a different mindset for a few days, which I’m sure is unforgettable. Would have loved to seen the bands perform as well as the live recordings, like you said about people who listened to the radio for news, be the same feeling if you closed your eyes and listened while it was performed.
Yeah, that hat was great the more we added to it :3 The goggles were my favorite.
I definitely wanna go to another steampunk convention! Maybe next time I’ll have more of a steampunk outfit.
I hardly recognize you! That portrait came out really, really well. :)
Haha, thanks XD
That must have been fun.
You certainly dressed the part, cool images
Haha, thanks! I definitely had a great time. Glad you enjoy the photos! I have more pics to post soon :]
