My husband and I got our first tattoos today!

I designed our tattoos, of course. I’d never get one that wasn’t unique or of my own creation. How did I come up with these? The story goes like this…

… When I was about 11 or 12 years old, I created this emblem. I’d never seen anything like it before and thought it just fit me. I’ve used it to signify myself ever since. I’ve played around with other tattoo designs, but this is the only one I’ve ever been 100% sure about getting tattooed on me because it is me

… Later on, when I was in 9th grade, I created a second emblem that would be for my one true love. I modeled it after a falling star, one descended from the heavens. This happened to be the year I met my future husband, and we’ve been together ever since.

I got a few piercings before to experiment with removable body art before I went to the permanent kind, and pain has never been an issue. In fact, it feels empowering during the ordeal and almost euphoric afterwards. I was still nervous going in, but I knew it wouldn’t be as bad as my nerves were making it out to be.

I’m so happy I finally got my tattoo! I’ve wanted one since I was in high school but never had the opportunity or the money to have.

It’s even more special getting our first tattoos together and sharing our special emblems.

Now we have one more beautiful thing connecting us even when we’re apart.

Oh yeah, and we totally splurged on some tasty treats while we were at it!  My husband is as sweet as these cakes <3

  1. Awesome! How much did it cost to get the ink?

  2. Sadly nope, Few times I wanted to get ink I was too broke at the time (even the garage inkers are going way up) but I’ve had a few designs (two from myself and one I saw online) picked out so once I get the buck’s I’ll get the ink.

  3. By the way, was researching some metal this past week, primarily German and came across a few good ones…

    Heaven Shall Burn

    die apokalyptischen reiter

    deadlock

atrocity (does metal and a form of techno, don’t know what genre to consider them really)

All have their own uniqueness to ‘em, hopefully at least one suits your style.

  4. Awesome Christine. Your creations are beautiful and the thoughts behind them are profound.
Good to see you again. Hope you are fine.

Congratulations to you and your husband on getting tattoos! Love both designs, and they really look like they go together :)

I love tattoos, I’ve got one on my back that says “deadpoet”, I plan to get another one, but still looking for the right design.

Woww…that’s really amazing, Christine!! The tattoo looks gorgeous!! And it’s so nice to design something that’s symbolizes you!! I really like that idea a lot!! You inspire me, girl!!

I have always loved the thought of a tattoo (a very simple one)…but I dunno if I have the nerve to have it done! heheheh…
But maybe some day, I will .. I hope I do!

Congrats on your first one together!! Keep ‘em coming!! :)
